Session 5:My Reflection on Presentation and GBL( part 1)

it was my group presentation and it went ok... it went a little different from what we expect it to turn out... and i spent too much time talking about how to use Keynote to draw and itwasted a bit of time..i learnt to focus on the more important aspect in the delivering of the presentation and just briefly run through the not-so-important part.

i think it was also a nice Game Based Learning session where we formed a new group with people from Music department which otherwise, i might not have the opportunity to. Initially, we had hope to be able to play Trauma Centre first, but unfortunately another group had the chance go first. nevertheless, we had the chance to play at Station 3 first which feature a list of flash games available for free from over the internet.

there were games that could be associated with subjects in a curriculum and if not, there were also games that promote problem solving and other thinking skills. At the same time, while we were playing the games, excited noises came from around the stations in the rooms. i realised all my other classmates were having so much fun.

we only managed to play in one of the stations for this session..i look forward to playing at the other stations in the next few upcoming sessions. hopefully, to contribute to the excited noises in the room during the next session :-)

What I have learnt
I have learn that there are conventional way of teaching and there is an unconventional way of teaching... Content wise, it can be associating with the curriculum subject that we're going to teach or teaching something that will contribute to character building.

How I learnt
I learnt it with means of my own laptop and venturing into the world of flash games from referring to the main screen along with a partner with whom i try to solve the CSI case with. :-)

how I might change the way I teach
i will not look at teaching in a very narrow point of view- by only having teacher in front of the class and talking. there are was to engage the students to learn- and in a fun manner
